Material specifications for Miss Dee jewellery

In general
All our jewellery is nickel-free and manufactured from non-allergenic materials. The base metal is mostly brass which is an alloy of copper and zinc. Zinc-injection is used to increase weight and give them a feeling of genuine jewellery.

Brass receives the top plating of silver very well. All silver plated styles are coated with electrophoretic clear lacquer (e-coating) to make them long-lasting. E-coating gives an excellent tarnish protection to the silver.

All our silver jewellery is plated with sterling silver. The gold and the rose gold plating is 14 carat gold.

On some earring the base metal is just brass in order to make them less heavy.

Pearls and glass
We use facet cut crystals, pearls and glass stones as decoration on our jewellery.

The base material in all our rings is brass with rhodium plating.

Rhodium is considered the best in class of all platinum metals group for resistance of tarnishing and scratching. Rhodium also remains bright and shiny under most environmental conditions.

Rhodium is also the most expensive in this metal group.

Dark coloured styles
The dark coloured styles are gunmetal plated. This material is an alloy of copper, zinc and tin.

The base is copper which receives the gun metal plating very well. This plating is also well-known for its long durability.
